Maryann Child, MS, BSN, RN
MaryAnn Child retired from the Veterans Affairs Long Beach Healthcare System (VALBHS) after 32+ years of service. She held various roles throughout her career including Deputy Chief Nurse, Chief of a large healthcare group, Utilization Management Chief, nurse manager, and staff nurse. She was a part-time lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, for the Department of Nursing and taught Healthcare Economics, Policy, and Information Management to Masters-level students in the Nurse Practitioner Program. Ms. Child continues to be involved in outreach efforts to attract high school students into the field of nursing. Since her retirement from VALBHS in 2015, she is a regular volunteer at the VA. Ms. Child received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, and a Master of Science in Health Care Management (MS HCM) from California State University Los Angeles, CA (CSULA), Summa Cum Laude.

Donn Grizzle, BS, MBA
Mr. Donn M. Grizzle has over 35 years combined experience in leadership positions in the banking and credit union industries providing leadership in operations, finance, lending, regulatory compliance, and general business operations. Within our local communities, Donn Grizzle has served on the Board of Governors for the California and Nevada Credit Union League Government Relations Committee and Orange County Chapter where he focused upon advocacy and financial education. Donn was also a member of the Children’s Hospital of Orange CU4Kids Advisory Board and has been on the Board of the Desert Pacific Foundation since 2019. Donn earned his MBA in business from Pepperdine University.

Donna Soroczak, BSN, MSN
Donna Soroczak has over 39 years experience as a Nurse/Nurse Manager/Nurse Executive. In 2009, after 32 years with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Ms. Soroczak retired from the VA Long Beach Healthcare System where she held positions of Community Healthcare Nurse Coordinator, Supervisor of Mental Health Services, and Chief Nurse in the Geriatric, Rehabilitation Medicine and Extended Care Healthcare Group. While at the VA, she was instrumental in developing and implementing the local Chapter (126) of the Nurses Organization of Veterans Affairs (NOVA) and facilitated the development and implementation of a scholarship program for VA nurses; she remains a member of NOVA as a Nurse Emeritus. Ms. Soroczak serves the community as a Board Member of the VA Desert Pacific Federal Credit Union, and sits as an advisor on several of their committees. In addition, Ms. Soroczak, serves on the Board of the American Legion Post 496 Auxiliary Committee, providing support to Legion and Auxiliary activities. Ms. Soroczak received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) from St. John College in Cleveland, OH and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration (MSN) from California State University, Los Angeles, CA.

Heidi BairHeidi Bair is a regenerative permaculture farmer and entrepreneur who specializes in Holistic Health and Food as Medicine. She has studied kinesiology, psychology, genetics, diet and nutrition, animal husbandry, aquaponics, aeroponics, organic and regenerative farming methods, and herbal medicine. Heidi also serves on the board of the Tracy Otte Love My Kids Foundation, a scholarship foundation upon which the Desert Pacific Foundation was modeled.

Shannon N. Workman
Shannon is the Executive Director, Financial Education Programs for SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union. She joined SchoolsFirst FCU in October 2014. She is responsible for the credit union's Financial Education Programs, serving the schools and Members throughout the State of California. These include In-Classroom presentations, Financial Education Simulations, Member Financial Education Workshops and oversight of the GreenPath Financial Wellness program and partnership. Shannon has worked in Credit Unions for over 35 years, and is dedicated to the philosophy of "People Helping People" and the credit union movement. She has had responsibilities in nearly every aspect of a Credit Union, including seven years as a President and CEO of a credit union. Shannon serves the community as a Board Member and co-founder of the Southern California Credit Union Alliance (SCCUA), as a Board Member of Desert Pacific Foundation as well as enjoying other volunteer responsibilities. Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband of over 35 years and her two grown children, daughter-in-law and two grandsons.
